Elena Grama about nail designs in 2021

The guest of the latest live broadcast on our Pro Nails Instagram channel was Elena Grama , an international teacher at XbeautyGroup Poland, CND Education Ambassador and a judge at nail aesthetics championships. Together with her, we discussed what techniques, images and prints are now in trend, how and with what to paint on nails, and where to learn how to create beautiful designs.

What designs should artists and clients pay attention to this fall?

This fall, as in any other season, nude is as popular as always. It looks beautiful on absolutely every shape and length of nails. It can be complemented by some kind of minimalist drawing. Also this season, the trend is foil, gold leaf, sparkles, some thematic autumn designs in red, orange, yellow shades.

Another trend is abstraction in an unusual execution format, as if the drawing was made by a child. This design combines different shades, geometric shapes, a little glitter and foil.

What prints are trending now?

Nothing new in terms of prints this year. Just as animal prints on nails were in fashion a couple of years ago, they remain trendy to this day. This manicure can be different: matte, with sparkles, made in non-standard shades (black and red, purple and green). Tiger print, lizard color, “dragon skin” and other variations are now incredibly popular, but they can not be performed on every nail, but on one or two or even half of one nail.

What designs do clients order most often now?

As a rule, now clients are divided into two categories - those who adore drawings, and those who order only monochrome natural designs. Unfortunately, every year there are fewer and fewer representatives of the first category.
