It’s so good that in the modern world there is a wide variety of assistants for craftsmen in the form of hot curling irons!

The usual cylindrical curling iron or the favorite corrugated curling iron for good volume, as well as several other curling irons known to us, will become indispensable for a hairdresser when working with hairstyles.

This is what Liliya Sivolapova, a practicing master and teacher, founder of the Couturier Hair Academy, thinks so; author of the courses “Philosophy of Styling” and L'ATTACHE. She claims that many craftsmen are mistaken when they say that durability depends on the level of fixation and on the high temperature of the tool. It's not like that at all.

The most common type of curling iron is the classic cylindrical curling iron with a diameter of 16 to 25 mm (see the main photo). It is quite enough for the daily work of a master who often works with cheats. For creative ideas and special purposes, you can choose several more options.

The cylindrical curling iron is not only the most common - it is universal. With its help, a hairdresser can create the largest number of twists, so this tool simply must be in your arsenal.

If you work in hot temperatures every day, remember that your hair must be completely dry when curling. Otherwise you will simply “cook” and burn them. The water that remains in the hair immediately begins to boil.

Moisture can affect not only the quality of the client's hair, but also the result of your work. The styling will never be long lasting if it is done on even slightly damp hair. After applying thermal protection, hair should be thoroughly dried. Thermal protection is applied only to damp strands - this is how it penetrates the hair structure and performs its main function. I do not recommend using thermal protection on dry hair.

A curling iron without a clamp (for example, a conical one) may be more convenient than a regular curling iron, but only if you use it in conjunction with special gloves. Curls with such a curling iron turn out very natural, identical, and if you want and have an idea, you can create a completely different everyday fashion look.

Double curling iron . This curling iron has two cylinders, and if you twist your hair around them in a figure eight, the curls will turn out zigzag. This curling iron is used less often, but if you want and try to create an interesting texture, and also play with styling, you will get several different curl options, all with the help of one curling iron.

Triangular curling iron . A curling iron with a triangular cross-section makes the curls clearer and sharper. It is useful to use both for individual curls and as a basis for further hairstyles. It is most often used on hair up to medium length and not in thick strands, so that the bend is really noticeable and clearly expressed.

Corrugated . In fact, the main function of this curling iron is to create root volume and small waves. But you shouldn’t get carried away with such a tool. With frequent use, you can seriously damage your hair, as it creates micro-cracks at high temperatures; it is also very important not to create a “waffle effect” on your hair.

This is important for any promotion! In order for the curl to last longer, it must first be cooled and only then unraveled. Remove the strand from the curling iron without unrolling it, then hold it in your palm. You can either wait until your hair cools down, or pin the curl with a hairpin and curl your hair further.
