Fine hair – is it really a complex hair structure? Or, in fact, is caring for thin hair easier than it seems?

As the owner of thin hair, I will answer you: they are convenient, easy and take very little time to care for. I will briefly and clearly tell you about the features of thin hair, its structure and how to properly care for it.

Structure

The thickness of a human hair is determined genetically and changes throughout life. Fine hair has the smallest hair diameter, which makes it very sensitive to any influences (thermal, chemical, mechanical). Thanks to this, they are easily painted, lightened and changed shape. Also an important factor is color “belonging”: natural blondes have finer hair than brunettes or redheads.

the washing up

The main problem of fine hair is rapid contamination and oily roots. The reason is the wrong selection of products and hair washing procedure. Use only professional shampoos for fine hair, for adding volume or suitable for daily use. They will gently cleanse the scalp without drying it out.

Apply a small amount of shampoo only to the roots and scalp, massage gently with your fingertips, and rinse. The water should not be too hot. Repeat the procedure and distribute the shampoo further to the ends and rinse.

Apply conditioner to the bottom two-thirds of your hair. Do not use fatty nourishing masks or oily serums. Better yet, opt for light, two-phase leave-in conditioners and light, creamy leave-in balms for fine hair. Don't ignore dry shampoos, but don't overuse them either.

Laying

Styling thin hair with the right selection of styling products and tools takes just a few minutes. To dry and lift hair at the root, use light, comfortable combs and low-power hair dryers. An excellent assistant for creating volume is a corrugated root iron with fine teeth. Don't neglect curlers and curling irons of different diameters.

Modern technologies have created a huge number of styling products to give and maintain additional volume. These are light mousses and sprays with heat-protective properties, varnishes with flexible fixation, pastes for adding texture to short haircuts.

Haircut, coloring, perm

For thin hair, medium-length haircuts are ideal. Graduated and short haircuts are ideal. If you want to have long hair, then give preference to cascading styles. Do not overuse thinning.

And of course, additional volume can be added by coloring. To do this, colorists use different techniques and several shades of color. Smooth transitions within the same color scheme create a stunning visual effect. An experienced hairdresser will select the right combination of color and suitable dye so as not to destroy the hair structure. Another salvation for owners of thin hair is biowave. Modern technologies make it possible to create any size and type of curls without damaging the hair structure. The main advice is to get a perm only from professionals and do not expect that it will be too cheap a procedure! Don't skimp on your beauty!
