How to prepare your hair for a hairstyle?
Don't forget about it
For hairstyles and styling, it is important to prepare the “foundation” - thoroughly cleanse the hair and scalp.
Liliya Sivolapova , a practicing master and teacher, founder of the Couturier Hair Academy, shared her advice; author of the courses “Philosophy of Styling” and “L'ATTACHE”.
Using a clarifying shampoo
Cleansing shampoos have a specific composition (alkaline substances), and previously this professional product could only be found in beauty salons.
Conventional shampoos have the same or similar acidity to the scalp; they do not cause skin irritation. But to remove cosmetics from the scalp and hair, you need an alkali, which reacts with product residues, removes everything and prepares the cuticle and cortex for the action of other substances.
How to use deep cleansing shampoo?
No more than once every 2 weeks. For dry strands - no more than once every 30-40 days.
Deep cleansing shampoo should be left on the hair for 3 to 5 minutes. However, the holding time should always be checked on the label of the specific product. It is recommended to rinse off with warm water. If the hair is very dirty, the composition can be applied a second time, but without aging. You need to complete the washing procedure by rinsing your hair with cold water. This will give them shine.
Important! All shampoo and treatment residues must be rinsed off thoroughly, otherwise you will end up with sticky strands. Properly washed hair squeaks.
After washing, use hair conditioners, because the supply of nutrients needs to be replenished. In addition, conditioners make hair styling easier and remove static.
How to wash your hair correctly?
- Use a shampoo that suits your client's skin type.
- Before applying shampoo to your hair, be sure to rub it in your palms.
- Do not leave shampoo on your hair for a long time.
Scalp scrubbing
Shampoos only partially solve the problem of hair pollution. This is due to the structure of the hair: the outer shell has a protective function and consists of microscales, under which dust particles, remnants of hair styling products and fat produced by the sebaceous glands also accumulate.
Therefore, if a client complains that the day after washing, the hair loses its freshness and shine, it’s time to scrub the scalp. This procedure will not only cleanse the skin of accumulated sebum, but also accelerate hair growth and tidy up its condition. Blood circulation will improve, and vitamins are better transported through the hair.
Weekly scrubbing allows the client's hair to remain clean for a longer period. If you wash your hair a little less often during this procedure, your hair and skin will become less oily.
In addition to removing natural pollutants, a scalp scrub will be useful for those who suffer from various types of dandruff, including oily seborrhea.
