Shooters are not losing ground and remain at the peak of popularity in 2021. What types should you pay special attention to and how to draw arrows correctly - we tell you in the material.
It’s difficult to find a girl who doesn’t like eyeliner, which is why clients often pose this task to a makeup artist. Refined lines emphasize the beauty of the eyes and make the look brighter, so the arrows are ideal for a wedding, evening, holiday or cocktail look.
Together with top stylist Nelya Fotul, we figure out which arrows remain relevant in 2021, what products and brushes are needed to create them, and how to learn to draw even arrows step by step so that the result meets your expectations!
Nelya Fotul , a top makeup artist in Ukraine with more than seven years of experience, works with “Kvartal 95”, “Women’s Quarter”, “League of Laughter” and such stars as Nadya Dorofeeva, Michelle Andrade, Katya Osadchaya, Masha Efrosinina and many others, worked as a top makeup artist at G.bar
Arrows are a classic that will never go out of style. They are able to decorate any makeup, make the look expressive and attractive, and look good in both daytime and evening makeup.
Arrows can be drawn with the following products:
- gel eyeliner;
- shadows;
- pencil;
- liner.
Drawing arrows is not the easiest thing, but nothing is impossible!
Interciliary arrow
Let's start with the simplest, but very important arrow - the interlash line. It is suitable for absolutely every girl, and its main task is to emphasize the contour of the eyes, visually make the eyelashes thicker, thereby achieving the effect of an open look.
To draw an eyelash line, we need a gel eyeliner and an angled eyeliner brush or a well-sharpened waterproof pencil that will not imprint on the lower mucous membrane. The main task in this case is to draw the space between the eyelashes. Not higher, not lower, but in between.
Step 1. To draw an interlash line, you need to lift the moving eyelid - this will allow you to see the base of the eyelashes.
Step 2. Then carefully draw a line with strokes from the outer corner of the eye to the inner.
Step 3. Apply mascara to your eyelashes.
Arrow with a thin tail
This arrow is now at the peak of popularity and is a favorite of such world makeup artists as Patrick Ta, Charlotte Tilbury, Hang Wango, Nikki Makeup and Hindash. It looks very gentle, well suited for both daytime and evening looks, if complemented with bright lips.
Step 1. Before drawing an arrow, you need to apply a base or cream shadow to the eyelid. I prefer cream shadows.
My favorites:
- Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise (shades Maria Antoinette, Bette)
- MAC Paint Pot (shades Perky, Groundwork)
- WYCON Soft Mousse Eyeshadow (shade 11)
- Maybelline Color Tattoo (shades 65 Pink Gold and 91 Cream de Rose)
Step 2. Then you need to choose a brush that will be convenient for you to draw an arrow (thin, beveled or felt-tip liner).
Step 3. It is important to note that this type of arrow starts from the middle of the eyelid - thus the line makes the look open and very attractive. Draw the eyelash contour with a thin line from the outer corner of the eye to the middle.
Step 4. How to draw arrows with eyeliner? Place the tail of the arrow in the outer corner of the eye and draw the top line to the middle of the eyelid. Fill in the arrow with eyeliner. Try to do everything step by step to maintain symmetry in your makeup.
Step 5. Stretch the tail of the arrow towards the temple with a clean thin brush or cotton swab. Then it will turn out thin and neat.
Step 6. Apply mascara to your eyelashes.
Shaded arrow
In order to draw a shaded arrow, you will need shadows, gel eyeliner or a black pencil.
Step 1. Prepare your eyelids for makeup. Apply the base, then dry light or cream shadows over the entire eyelid.
Step 2. Draw a classic arrow using a thin brush and gel eyeliner or pencil. Don't forget to paint the space between the eyelashes so that there are no gaps and the arrow is complete and beautiful.
Step 3: Using a small natural brush, blend the line until it is set.
Step 4: Use a brush to add some gray or brown shadow into the blend to make the transition smoother.
Step 5. Apply mascara to your eyelashes.
Now you know how to correctly draw arrows on your eyes with a pencil, gel eyeliner or liner. Time to put your knowledge into practice!
