If 2020 was filled with comebacks from the 90s, then it seems that 2022 is headed for a wave of trends from the 2000s. Thus, creative dip-dye coloring was again noticed on the trend radar. But will he take root?

Artists and clients began to talk about this trend again after Canadian singer Avril Lavigne returned to the music space with new material. In 2021, the artist returned to the look from 2007 - dyeing using the dip-dye technique.

Of course, this year's version looks updated and even stylish, so many customers decided to try it for themselves.

A hair coloring technique called dip-dye is a classic two-tone hair coloring technique that uses contrasting colors along the lengths and ends of the hair. The result of dyeing looks as if the hair was simply dipped in dye. In addition, a strong contrast is created between the bulk of the hair and the colored ends.

This method is used not only for dyeing hair, but also for clothing. After all, it is done in the same way - a T-shirt or jacket is dipped in paint to the required level.

Technically, dip dye is very easy to perform, because all the nuances are the same as with any bright coloring. Only not the entire hair fiber is dyed, but a specific block a few centimeters from the ends.

Visually, dip dye resembles ombre, but the main difference is that it is not a smooth transition between colors, but a contrasting one.

If earlier a similar technique was performed mainly on heavily bleached hair and popular shades were pink, blue and purple, today hairdressers are increasingly experimenting not only with bright colors, but also with the main ones. With this technique, you can create any client request, even for all the colors of the rainbow: from acidic to natural, natural tones.
