Artem Tikhevich, a former participant in the show “Phenomenon,” talks about the concept of “creativity,” and also shares tips on how to develop it and how to build a successful team creative process.

Creativity is an important feature of every modern person, allowing him to stand out from the gray mass and be remembered as a professional in his field. Let's try to find and understand the difference between creativity and creativity. It is a mistake to think that these are one and the same thing.

Creativity is self-expression without any restrictions. And creativity is the creation of something new, but within the framework of a given task. A person goes to work every day. Along the same routes. Feels almost the same. In fact, we walk along the same paths all our lives. And creativity is an attempt to go beyond the ordinary.

Why is it not so easy to produce ideas? Why are many of the new ideas banal? First, the power of habit works. Once in Germany they conducted an experiment. Five opaque cups were placed on the ground, bottom up. In one of them, namely the second from the right, they put nuts for the chipmunk. The chipmunk ran up, turned this cup over and ate his treat.

The experimenters placed the cup in a different place - second from the left. But the chipmunk still ran up to the one he was accustomed to, turned it over and ran away, never having eaten. This animal has an excellent sense of smell, but it didn't even bother to look for nuts in the other four glasses. When the second glass on the right was removed and the nuts were left in a transparent glass next to it, the chipmunk didn’t even show up. No “right” cup means no food. The logic is simple.

People are not much different in this regard. One day I conducted an experiment: I stood in the middle of a busy street and looked up, raising my head to the sky. You won’t believe it, but passers-by stopped and looked up with me, without even asking: “What’s there?” This is the “herd effect”.

Is creativity an innate or acquired trait?

In fact, it’s both. There are components without which it is difficult to be creative:

– ability to make quick decisions;

– the ability to get out of situations in a non-standard way;

– originality;

– the ability to see the essence of the task;

– resistance to stereotypes.

In creativity, it is very important to try to combine knowledge from opposing areas of activity. Do you know how Eiffel came up with the Eiffel Tower? He loved to walk around various exhibitions. Having seen a cross-section of a bone exhibit, he began to examine its structure and took it as the basis for building the famous tower, actually mixing engineering and anatomy. In the same way, ordinary Velcro for clothes was invented. A man was walking his dog, saw how thistle stuck to its fur, and made an analogy.

To be creative, you need to think from the general to the specific. When talking about something, you must first describe the overall picture, gradually moving on to the details.

Traits of a creative person:

– persistence;

– tolerance to uncertainty – it is enough for him to pose a problem, and not to explain it step by step. And he himself will find a solution;

– openness to new experiences;

– risk appetite.

What does the team creative process look like?

First comes the formulation of the task or problem. Then preparation for its solution, construction of different options, including those from other areas and areas of activity. Next comes the most important phase - maturation. It is during this period of time that you give your brain proper rest. This is very important, because now a solution to your task or problem is automatically built in your subconscious. The last phase is insight.

When creating a creative solution, you will always be hindered by habit and fear of failure, fear of being ridiculed. Who has neither habits nor fear? That's right - in a child. For me, in fact, the most beloved and at the same time difficult audience have always been children. They always think creatively. Simple but creative.

When the coin disappears in my hands, the adults begin to come up with what they think are “smart” solutions to such a trick. They suggest the presence of special devices in my sleeve, invisible magnets and ultra-thin threads for the disappearance of the coin. The child will immediately say that there was no coin in his hand at all. That she remained in the other hand. Because he followed the coin and did not think about what the universities had not yet taught him.

What stimulants will help you create creative ideas?

Disabled mobile phone. Green tea. Beautiful and non-aggressive music, Chocolate, which will supply you with endorphin - the hormone of joy. For some, including me, a blackboard and chalk help. I sketch all my ideas.

How to develop creativity?

To develop creativity, first, you need to remove your fears. Secondly, try to think in images. Thirdly, be in a creative atmosphere. Fourth, come to the state of a “Buddhist” (complete liberation of mind from matter) and look for solutions in it. Fifth, try to diversify your life. Hence experience, knowledge in various fields of activity and the ability to think outside the box.

Signs that your team has a creative atmosphere:

– absence of conflicts;

– free exchange of information;

– positive emotional atmosphere;

– the right to make mistakes;

– versatile people;

– time to search;

– unity of goals;

– persistence;

– knowledge and use of creativity techniques;

– examples of creating creative solutions.

When you think or solve a problem, draw. Let your hand guide the pencil along the sheet. It doesn't matter what is depicted there. Creativity stimulates.

Memory and emotions are also closely related. We remember what was emotional. Instill a touch of emotion into your projects and ideas.

Try to create something by taking two ideas from different fields and combining them. 90% of what is invented in the world today is taken from nature. Be a child enjoying the sunshine and the smell of freshly cut grass.

I wish you creative solutions and self-development!
