Children's and teenage haircuts: care, price, choice of hairdresser
Little clients

When young clients come to a hairdresser, their parents often have a lot of questions and concerns. This is normal, but the master needs to learn to “work” with it.
How do you explain to clients why a child’s haircut costs the same as an adult’s? Or why can’t you cut your hair on dirty hair? Let's figure it out together with Lara Ryzhkova.

Every parent knows that their child is the best and most beautiful! And this is the absolute truth! You always give your little treasure the best piece, you dream that your child will be healthy, happy and successful, you pray to all the gods and all the guardian angels to protect him from all possible troubles and give him all your love. Then why do such questions and opinions arise? For example:
• “Why is a child’s haircut so expensive?”
• “Why does a teenager need to wash his hair so often?”
• “Why does he need professional shampoo, conditioner, etc.?”
• “Styling paste is so expensive! For a child, this is pampering... I have foam left there, it’s been lying around idle for a couple of years, we’ll smear it with it.” And so on and so forth. Let's figure it out.
Price
A baby's head, of course, is smaller than that of an adult, but the child spins and fidgets much more. He is afraid of a hair dryer, water, clippers, the clicking of scissors, but you want a fashionable haircut, like in a magazine. I will cut an adult man’s hair in half an hour, but I will only hold the baby in my arms for half an hour, coax him and introduce him to me, so that later he will be as comfortable as possible.
Children's hair has a different structure than adult hair. In addition, the skin is thinner, and you need to work very carefully and gently so as not to cause injury to the restless baby, so you can’t rush. Time is money!
Advice: always recommend that the client choose a haircut salon in advance, preferably a specialized one. Bring your kids ahead of time - just to get to know the surroundings. Let them get used to it.
Hygiene
We often hear from parents: “We won’t wash our hair, we washed it last Saturday. This is a child, where does he get dirty? Or: “We’re coming from the sea here, give us a haircut. You might think it's sand! Shake it out, we’ll wash ourselves later.”
The hairdressers do haircuts only on clean, freshly washed hair. If dirty hair is cut in a hairdresser, this means that microorganisms and infections can multiply on tools, hands, tables and negligees, and no “sterilizers” will help. Choose carefully where it is not safe for you and your children.
Fashionable haircuts
As the child grows, the shape of his skull changes, and the hairdresser must take into account all the physiological characteristics of the child - the silhouette of the haircut should make the head shape ideal. A haircut should not only be beautiful, but also comfortable and easy to care for. A fashionable look is a good haircut + styling.
Teach your child to choose an image for himself from an early age - this develops him as a person! When your baby turns into a teenager, do not impose your views and tastes. He lives in his own society, which you do not always understand, and it is important for a child to be “belonging” in this world. And in general, when should he “break away”?
Childhood and adolescence will quickly pass, and he will become an adult, with a lot of responsibility, constrained by a dress code and responsibilities. Give him the opportunity to be a happy child! Green, ashen, crimson, bald, with dreadlocks, stupid braids, but do it with professionals who won’t do any harm and will choose the right shape, color, silhouette.
And they will competently explain why this can be done and why something is not necessary, and they will authoritatively explain everything to the child, and not to you. Look for a master that your child likes, a professional who will explain what shampoo is needed, why balm is needed, what styling is and how to use it. And when you find it, don’t be greedy! Give up cigarettes, beer, and “gluttonous” feasts for your family on New Year’s and Birthdays, but don’t skimp on something sacred—your child.
