Bob haircut: how to do it correctly?

The age-old question among craftsmen and even clients is which is correct: bob or bob? The idea of the form itself is the same, but the execution may be different. In my terminology, I do not use the term “square”.

So, step-by-step technology for doing a bob haircut

1. We divide the washed hair into zones: “crosswise” from the frontal protrusion or from the parting to a point on the neck, as well as from ear to ear.

2. We start cutting from the lower occipital zone and move horizontal partings to the middle of the back of the head. Tilt the head away from you, distribute the hair in a natural fall and draw 0 degrees.

3. The upper occipital area to the break-up point is cut with radial partings from the point behind the ear (these partings contribute to the natural fall). If your hair has poor elasticity, I recommend using the “no tension” principle.

4. The temporal zones are cut with horizontal partings, the chin is straight, the head is tilted away from you in a drawdown of 0 degrees.

5. In the bangs area, I recommend redirecting the hair to the temple projection if the length of the hair in the bangs area falls on the temple areas.

6. Dry the hair, stretch it with a round brush or straightener so that you can modify and check the shape. The hairdresser needs the styling after the haircut to check it and sometimes it may differ from the client’s wishes.

7. How do we check the form? According to three criteria: dynamics, level position and bending.

Please note that the shape of a bob haircut should always be adapted to each client individually.
