We decided to dot all the i's and figure out which brushes are best to use for foundation and how to use them correctly.

Choose a synthetic foundation brush because natural bristles absorb most of the product. A brush allows you to create a denser coverage than a sponge, so consider this point before applying makeup. There are several types of brushes for applying foundation.

Duofiber brush

Duofiber brushes have a mixed pile consisting of synthetic and natural fibers. With this brush you can create a light, thin coating that will look as natural as possible. If the client’s face does not have significant problems and does not require dense masking of imperfections, but only light toning of the face, this tool is ideal for you. Using a duofiber brush, you can evenly distribute the tone without creating a mask effect.

Use such brushes when performing natural daytime makeup and anti-aging makeup, as they allow you to apply the tone in a thin layer, without focusing on age-related changes.

Apply foundation in circular motions and hold the brush perpendicular to your face.

Flat synthetic brush

This brush can be called a classic one. With its help, foundations are applied most densely and smoothly. A regular flat brush has hairs matched to one another so that it becomes thinner towards the tip. As a rule, flat brushes are shaped like a semicircle to make it comfortable to work on the areas around the nose and eyes.

Artificial fibers of the brush do not absorb cosmetics, as happens with natural ones, so it is more advisable to use them.

To apply foundation with a flat brush, move along massage lines from the center to the periphery.

Kabuki brush

A synthetic fiber Kabuki brush is also great for applying foundation. It can be straight or beveled, flat or semicircular. Depending on the shape, using such a tool, you can apply the tone in a circular motion or, using it like a sponge, apply the product with patting movements.

All kabuki brushes are very dense, so they are convenient for blending the foundation, so you can control the density of the product. With careful work, the foundation will not be noticeable on the face at all.
