The development of the beauty industry hospitably opened the doors of cosmetic offices, making previously inaccessible procedures common to their visitors, and with that, skin and venereal diseases that entered the daily practice of a cosmetologist.

In turn, the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century was characterized by a sharp increase in the number of sexually transmitted diseases.

Classic venereal diseases include syphilis, gonorrhea, mild chancre, donovanosis, inguinal lymphogranulomatosis; to STDs - chlamydia, candidiasis, trichomoniasis, genital herpes, ureaplasmosis, acute condylomas, molluscum contagiosum, pubic pediculosis (lice), scabies.

A specialist in the beauty industry needs to know the clinical manifestations of venereal diseases and their differential diagnosis and skillfully use them in his professional activity in order, firstly, to protect himself from contact with a potentially unhealthy person, and secondly, to prevent the spread of the disease among clients and staff.

Today, the skin manifestations of venereal diseases are very variable and multifaceted due to such common phenomena as self-medication, neglect of the clinical picture in individual cases, errors in diagnosis and treatment by non-specialists.
