Regeneration is the life cycle of your skin
Interview with Michelle Imar.
In 2020, the Renophase Laboratoires brand took over the management of the Forest company in Ukraine. Traditions, company strategies and plans for the future from the mouth of Michelle Imar, founder of the cosmetics brand.
LNE: Michelle, let's remember where it all began: please tell us the history and idea of creating the Renophase brand?
M.I.: When I was 24 years old, I was in a very serious car accident, my face was disfigured, the bones on my left side were broken from the chin to the eye socket. Facial reconstruction required several plastic surgeries, after which there were still many scars on the cheek that neither professional medicine nor the science of that time could remove.
"Find your face again!" – it became not just a dream, but a challenge! My research was aimed at studying cellular regeneration, searching for new works and research around the world. Thus, to bring my developments to life, I founded Renophase Laboratoires in 1984.
Today, Laboratoires Renophase represents 37 years of research in the field of cell regeneration, used in aesthetic dermatology by specialists in more than 30 countries. In Europe, the demand for such cosmeceuticals is constantly increasing, because this brand meets the basic requirements of the aesthetic cosmetology market:
- exclusive technologies;
- unique research experience;
- effective formulations based on penetration technology;
- visible results in use.
LNE: What is the brand philosophy?
M.I.: The brand’s philosophy can be described as “Cosmeceuticals for skin regeneration and prolongation of the cell life cycle.”
First of all, it is important for us to control biological processes to restore skin, rejuvenate and maintain homeostasis. To achieve these goals, we use biomimetic molecules and biological precursors that act on target cells in the skin. The goal of cosmetic treatments is to restore skin quality to an ideal level. The unique compositions of the developed products are especially effective due to the use of transdermal diffusion technologies. This technology allows us to launch a regeneration program in the skin and quickly achieve visible results. We get global restructuring, restoration of volume and radiance of the skin.

There are also the basic principles of action of Renophase cosmeceuticals, which we adhere to in the treatment of any patient’s problem: cleansing, stimulation, revival, restoration. During the stimulation stage, the degree of skin response increases by activating cell regeneration. We use cleansing and peeling products that include Renophase glycolic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid, salicylic acid, and gluconolactone. The next important stage is rebirth, where cellular response is improved through detoxification. At this stage, the chronodiffusion method is used. In order for the cell to respond to any stimulation, it is first necessary to activate the biorecirculation of damaged proteins accumulated over a long time. And during the recovery stage, the skin transforms and reprograms itself. At this stage, we enhance metabolism in mitochondria using LED, IPL, RF.
Using our research and applying it in combined techniques, we not only solve the dermatological problems of our clients, but radically change the quality of life, restoring healthy glowing skin, and with it self-confidence.
LNE: Michelle, what makes Renophase cosmeceuticals unique? Apart from your own research team working on your products, tell us what sets you apart from other beauty companies?
M.I. : What is unique, first of all, is our vision of skin. From a generally accepted point of view, skin is a means of protection, exchange and control between the inner and outer world. Its multiple functions are due to its good organization, which depends on the normal detoxification and synthesis of skin cells. The interdependence between these cellular organizations positively or negatively changes the circuit structure. Thus, if a disruption occurs in any of the circuit structures, other systems will be affected.
Let's look at the example of the effects of free radicals. They cause more than 80% of visible signs of skin aging. When the defense system against their effects becomes less effective, these oxidative processes increase at the level of fibroblast blocks (collagen, hyaluronic acid), melanocyte (melanin) and the immune response. Visible consequences are premature wrinkles, loss of density, age spots, dehydration, hypersensitivity.
All molecular complexes in Renophase products are based on the above principles and allow achieving high results in the treatment of acne, rosacea, mesasma of various origins, as well as in skin rejuvenation in general.
Regenerative protocols are a multi-stage technology aimed at restructuring and restoring the skin by reprogramming cellular functions.

LNE: How is Renophase cosmeceuticals combined with hardware methods?
M.I.: Each protocol is specific and affects specific biological targets. Combined procedures are used regularly to potentiate the effect of cosmeceuticals and maintain the effect for a long time. As the creators of Photodynamiques peels®, we are developing methods related to light therapy in combination with Renophase peels. Skin cells contain photoacceptors that absorb natural light. This interaction stimulates the activity of a physiological cellular process. Light therapy has been a proven method for many years. It accelerates the process of natural absorption of light quanta to increase cellular energy, activates and enhances metabolism. Renophase harnesses non-thermal energy from photons by coupling it to bioavailable or photoacceptor molecules. All Renophase treatments can be combined with light.
LNE: What are you working on now? What new products can we expect from Renophase in the near future?
M.I.: We are currently developing a new peptide technology that increases the level of cell protection to restore skin health and radiance. Peptides are a relatively new, but extremely promising direction in cosmetology. They act as conductors that transmit information in cells, stimulating them to divide, thereby rejuvenating the epidermis. Peptides in cosmetics help manage the aging process. They are smaller and lighter than proteins, which means they can penetrate deeper into the dermis and effectively fight the signs of aging. Many of our products are already enriched with peptide complexes, but we continue to actively work in this direction.
LNE: What is your dream?
M.I.: This is a very personal question (smiles). Of course, as a woman and mother, my first dream is for my children to be happy and fulfill themselves. And as the developer of Renophase Laboratoires, I dream that the brainchild of my entire life, Renophase products, will be presented in every country in the world and women in all corners of the planet will be able to not only try our cosmeceuticals, but regain healthy glowing skin!
