Features of aesthetic Modern cosmetology offers a huge number of procedures aimed at correcting age-related changes. But the lack of uniform protocols and systematization of available methods often makes it difficult to work with different age groups. Let's talk about the peculiarities of prescribing a course of aesthetic correction for patients aged 65+.

The demand for medical cosmetology procedures is growing rapidly along with the age of our patients. It is important to understand the specifics of prescribing a course of aesthetic correction to patients aged 65+, taking into account changes in both the structure and functioning of their tissues and systems.

Skin is the main point of a cosmetologist's work. A decrease in the functional activity of fibroblasts leads to a decrease in the quantity and quality of all the main components of the intercellular matrix - proteoglycans, collagens and adhesive proteins.

Subcutaneous adipose tissue is the most vulnerable to weight fluctuations, it is this that, in case of weight gain, forms changes in the macroreliefs of the face - the appearance of nasolabial folds, lumps and a second chin.

From the point of view of visualization of the "old age" symptom complex, cosmetologists are more interested in the mimic muscles of the face than the chewing muscles (mm. Masseter et Temporalis). With age, their static hypertonus and shortening occurs.

For elderly patients, it is important to understand that in terms of correction, the procedures are not for prevention, but for the purpose of camouflage, to the fore, because, firstly, most of the changes have already occurred, and secondly, the skin of such patients will not give an adequate response to most therapeutic and stimulating procedures.
