Microdermabrasion: what is it?

Microdermabrasion has long been and justifiably used in cosmetology as a way to eliminate such skin defects as post-acne scars, lentiginous and pigment spots, fine wrinkles, skin porosity, peeling, etc.

Microdermabrasion belongs to the methods of mechanical impact on the epidermis. The name, consisting of the words derma and abrasive, speaks for itself. Microdermabrasion works at the level of the stratum corneum of the epidermis. Cleansing the skin from the layer of dead cells leads to an increase in the function of transdermal diffusion (the transport of active components of cosmetics improves, salon procedures and the usual use of cosmetic products become more effective).

The essence of the method is that the surface layer of the skin is treated with abrasive powder, which is supplied through a vacuum closed system. The tip projects microcrystals with abrasive properties onto the skin, providing gentle exfoliation and removing several layers of dead cells, while preventing irritation thanks to the ability to adjust the intensity of the procedure, depending on the sensitivity of the skin.
