In the mirror of evidence-based medicine: РDR or sensitive skin?
To the issue of establishing a cosmetology diagnosis
In practice, many EM specialists offer a wide range of hardware skin care programs, exclusive cosmetic lines, but when establishing a diagnosis, they may be limited to such formulations as "dry skin", "mature skin", "combination skin". And you can avoid being silent by mastering the methods of evidence-based medicine.
Dry skin often includes both skin with reduced sebum production and dehydrated skin. However, the classification used for the instruction of cosmetic products is clearly insufficient for professional cosmetology diagnosis. In addition, modern manuals on cosmetology advise specialists to avoid such formulations as "combination" or "sensitive" skin in order to establish a professional cosmetology diagnosis.
Before touching on the issue of applying objective parameters for the diagnosis of sensitive skin, it should be said that there is no single accepted classification or definition of this term. The definition of sensitive skin includes conditions characterized by various symptoms such as redness, swelling, peeling, rashes, as well as itching, tightness and tingling.
Some experts suggest already at the first stage of diagnosis, along with determining the type of skin oiliness, to diagnose permanent diffuse redness (permanent diffused redness), which partially coincides with our accepted definition of "sensitive skin".
