Recently, patients increasingly began to turn to cosmetologists with requests to remove an annoying papilloma or wart. This is due, on the one hand, to increased attention of patients to their appearance, and on the other hand, to an increase in the number of skin neoplasms due to excessive insolation, adverse environmental conditions, endocrine and immune disorders, as well as local irritation of the skin with various household chemicals.

Although according to statistics, about 97% of clients who consult a cosmetologist have benign neoplasms that can be treated in the conditions of a cosmetology clinic, before making a decision to remove a skin neoplasm, it is very important to remember some rules. So, let's start with the main thing.

Note to the cosmetologist who decided to remove a wart, papilloma or birthmark from his patient:

  • to question the patient and collect the history of the occurrence and growth of this neoplasm;
  • take your time, have enough time, use good lighting and magnification to carefully examine and identify skin neoplasms;
  • have the necessary knowledge for making the correct diagnosis and differentiation from malignant neoplasms;
  • to be aware of one's responsibility and limitations of diagnostic methods in the conditions of a cosmetology clinic and, at the slightest suspicion, to refer the patient to a specialized clinic.

In 75.7% of cases, it is possible to establish a final diagnosis of a skin tumor based only on clinical and anamnestic data.
