Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical, atraumatic and safe method of treating varicose veins of the lower extremities. The method is based on the introduction of a medical drug into the affected vessel - a sclerosant, which fills and closes the vein, removing it from the blood stream.

Sclerotherapy as a method is recommended for those diagnosed with varicose veins in the initial stages. The procedure inhibits the spread and progression of the pathology, eliminates noticeable symptoms. At the very beginning, the disease manifests itself as a cosmetic defect — in the form of reticular varicose veins and telangiectasias, or "vascular stars." But such manifestations can later transform into varicose veins with all the complications.

In most cases, this problem is asymptomatic, but sometimes it can cause burning, itching, tingling and pain in its manifestation. In young women, the cause of this condition may be an imbalance of female sex hormones, long-term use of oral contraceptives, or the presence of an intrauterine spiral.
