Procedures in the periorbital area are popular in aesthetic medicine and cosmetology due to the peculiarities of the skin around the eyes. Such a delicate area requires not only caution, but also a comprehensive approach.

Features of the periorbital area

The periorbital area is one of the most problematic and difficult to correct. Here the skin is thin, without subcutaneous fat, and there is also a pronounced facial load, which generally contributes to the early formation of wrinkles. Increased transparency of the skin in the area under the lower eyelid visualizes circulatory disorders (for example, stagnation is manifested by dark blue circles).

Limited lymph flow capabilities often lead to edema, periorbital tissue is prone to the formation of hernial sacs, a high level of metabolism leads to the intensification of all processes, including skin wilting. In addition to the specific features of the area itself, the skin here is also affected by the usual negative factors that provoke its wilting: gravitational ptosis, photodamage.

On the one hand, such a bouquet of factors that destructively affect the area near the eyes leads to the fact that persistent unaesthetics appear even at a young age. On the other hand, there are restrictions on the use of most effective techniques, especially injection ones, in this area.
