Aesthetic gynecology: laser correction of age-related changes in the intimate area
The role of the gynecologist in the anti-age management of women
Anti-age strategies are based on systemic effects on the entire human body. Special significance in the age aspect is given to the preservation of sexual health.
The influence of time on a woman's body and appearance is merciless and affects the intimate zone as well as the body as a whole. Today, we have a steady tendency to increase life expectancy all over the world, in particular in Ukraine. According to statistical data for 2019-2020, the average life expectancy of a woman in Ukraine is about 77 years. The average age of onset of menopause is 50 years, that is, a woman should spend a third of her life in menopause.
The concept of "successful aging" is gaining more and more popularity, which focuses not only on longevity, but also on quality of life. According to this concept, a person's chronological age should correspond to or be higher than his physiological, mental and social age.

As you know, the vagina, urethra, bladder and the lower third of the ureters in the process of embryogenesis develop from a common germ layer (mesoderm), are closely related anatomically and functionally, and have a common blood supply and lymphatic system. The structure of the urethral epithelium is similar to the vaginal epithelium; it is also capable of synthesizing glycogen and is just as sensitive to estrogen as the vaginal mucosa.
